Kinman Custom Shop Zero-Hum 'Septimus' 7 String Soapbar P-90.

Do you have lust for a 7 string custom build guitar that is different to any other?  In a world dominated by murky sounding humbuckers we believe these are the first Zero-Hum P-90 Soapbar 7 string pickups to become available.  Intended for design your own guitar project guitars with normal Soapbar cavities and get creative with it's controls, remember a single 250k volume and tone control and a mahogany body & neck is the way to go.

As beautifully engineered on the inside as is visually beautiful on the outside, and also there is the beautiful dynamic sound.  But don't let the beautiful description cause you to think these pickups can't cause sonic mayhem, they certainly have that capability ... and in the hands of a competent player can be more brutal and dynamic than any humbucker. 

The naturally lush, super dynamic sound, rapid attack and clarity of a Kinman P-90 Hx is eminently suited to the drop tuning of a 7 string guitar and our Bright Sweet Neck, Bright Clean Bridge, Bright C&B Neck and Bright Nasty 90 models will find a home in heavy metal, progressive rock, jazz and any other type of music you care to name.

Each one will have your name engraved on the baseplate with a serial number, starting with 001.

Technical & Application info:

Installation

Consider including our optional non-magnetic mounting plate kit, it makes install fast n easy because you don't have to drill holes in the precise position for the pickups mounting screws in cavity floors because it also acts as a drill guide.  Being non-magnetic our plate will not compromise the hum cancelling ability of the P-90 Hx.

Connections

• Bare wires for soldering.
• Kinman connectors for plugging into a Kinman Strat, Tele or KHP-90 No-Soldering harness.

Output Polarity: 

• in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers
• in-phase with all other Kinman pickups
• opposite phase to Fender Strat
• Fender pickups have opposite output polarity so consider Kinman's Strat models which have same output polarity.

Pot & Capacitor values

• Best with 500k Ohm for Volume.  Many Gibson's have 300k which makes a darker, less dynamic sound.
• Normal Tone pot is 500k however to maximize clarity use a No-Load or alternatively a 1 Meg Ohm tone pot.
• Normal tone cap value of 0.022µF in 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester.  Smaller value lessen the severity of Treble cut, higher values increase it.

Cavity depth

• No need to deepen the pickup cavity in ANY guitar that has flat bottom cavities for P-90's.  Click Install Requirements to discover requirements for pickup cavity.
